A video which shows people gathered on railway tracks is being circulated on social media platforms with users linking it to the recent violence that broke out in Murshidabad, West Bengal.
What have users said?: An X (formerly Twitter) user shared the clip with a caption that said, "RSS is a Terrorists group, This is its proof. Two @RSS workers - Madan Kundu & Sagar Das - caught red-handed while planting BOMB near the railway line in Nimtita, #Murshidabad..."
What are the facts?: While the video is indeed from Murshidabad, it dates back to December 2024 and has no connection to the recent violence in the district. This makes the claim misleading.
What led us to the truth?: We noticed a watermark on the top-right hand side of the viral video, which when translated to English said "Murshidabad Today".
The video had a watermark.

Finding the original video: Taking this as a hint, we searched for 'Murshidabad Today' on YouTube and found a channel with the same name.
We went through the channel and found the longer version of the viral clip posted on 26 December 2024.
Its title when translated to English said, "Two youths escape after leaving bomb on railway tracks || Murshidabad Today ||."
News reports: A report published in Anandbazar said that two people identified as Madan Kundu and Sagar Das were arrested after locals near Nimtita station spotted both of them leaving a bomb next to the railway line.
It said that the locals caught both the accused and was later handed over to the police.
A Sangbad Pratidin report added that Kundu and Das were accused of spreading bomb scares by leaving an object that was wrapped in black plastic near a railway line.
The report further said that there was no actual bomb.
The report was published on 26 December 2024.
