A video showing Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate cheering and later getting emotional is going viral on social media to claim that she "celebrated" Congress' defeat and the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) victory in the Delhi assembly elections.

What's the truth?: This video dates back to June 2024 and is unrelated to the recent Delhi election results.

• It shows Shrinate celebrating Congress winning 99 seats at the Lok Sabha elections.

How did we find out the truth?: We performed a relevant keyword search on Google which led us to a YouTube report shared by Live Hindustan on 5 June 2024.

• It carried the same video of Shrinate celebrating and the title mentioned that she got emotional after the Lok Sabha election results.

Taking a cue, we checked for this exact video on Shrinate's official X (formerly Twitter) account with the help of advance search option.

• This led us to a post shared by Shrinate on 4 June 2024 which has garnered on 1.5 million views, at the time of writing this story.

• The caption mentioned the location to be Congress' social media office and also linked the video with Lok Sabha elections.

• This comes after Congress secured 99 seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.

We also did not find any other reports about Shrinate "celebrating" Congress' performance in the Delhi assembly elections.
