What's the truth?: This video is from February 2025 and shows a protest against the construction of six new Indus canals in Sindh, Pakistan.

How did we find out the truth?: We performed a reverse image search on some of the keyframes of the viral video on Google lens.

  • This led us to several social media posts from 23 February 2025 showing the same visuals.

  • The caption read, “Pakistan is losing its identity! Stop constructing canals from the Indus and let the river flow freely. This is not just JSQM-A’s (Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, a political party) demand, it is the demand of the entire Sindhi nation!”

  • It also carried the longer version of the video and in this version, we could noticed a banner that reads “Release Advocate Aamir Umrani.”

The banner can be seen in the video.
