A graphic purportedly shared by Bolta Hindustan is being shared to claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had demanded the withdrawal of cases against businessman Gautam Adani in exchange for a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
What did the graphic say?: It carried an alleged quote by United States President Donald Trump that said, "In exchange for a ceasefire, all cases and arrest warrants against Adani were demanded to be withdrawn."
What are the facts?: The viral graphic has been altered. There is no evidence to support the claim that the US President indeed made such a statement.
How did we find that out?: On going through the official Facebook handle of Bolta Hindustan, we found a similar graphic uploaded on 12 May.
Its caption when translated to English said, "I threatened India-Pakistan and said, if you do not stop war, I will stop business! : US President Trump."
Comparing visuals: We compared the viral graphic to the one shared by Bolta Hindustan and found that the former had been altered.
A comparison clearly highlights the similarities.
