AI Video Passed off as Real Visuals of Lord Ram’s Bow Being Recently Discovered

A detection tool showed over 94 percent probability of the video being an AI-generated one.

A video of a bow being lifted out of water and then being placed on a boat is being shared on social media platforms with a claim that it shows Lord Ram's bow that was recently found.

What have users said?: Those sharing the clip have uploaded it with a caption that loosely translated to, "Sri Rama's bow caught in the sea is a divine weapon. Jai Sri Ram Jai Sri Ram Sita Rama Lakshmana Anjaneyam."

What are the facts?: The video has been generated using the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and does not show real visuals. This makes the claim misleading.

How did we find that out?: On conducting a reverse image search on the viral clip, we found similar visuals posted on different social media handles. You can view these posts here and here.

  • We noticed that both these posts carried a watermark that said "mrmahadevshorts1".

The video was posted on an unverified YouTube channel.

Finding the original video: Team WebQoof searched for the username on Google and found an Instagram handle.

  • The same visuals were posted on the handle on 30 May.

  • The post's caption carried a disclaimer that mentioned about the video being an "AI-generated revisualization".

  • It further said, "The visuals are reconstructed based on speculative archaeological hypotheses and artistic interpretations. It aims to inspire cultural curiosity and dharmic awareness, NOT to present verified historical evidence. Viewer discretion advised."

The post was shared on 30 May.

About the Instagram handle: We found that the account identified itself as a "digital creator". On going through the handle, we noticed that the user regularly posts such AI-generated content.

What did detection tools show?: On passing the video through an AI detection tool named 'DeepFake-O-Meter', where one classifier showed over 94 percent probability of the video being an AI-generated one.

Conclusion: It is evident that the video has been generated using AI and does not show real visuals.
