A video showing a massive fire and smoke billowing in the night sky is being shared on social media platforms.
The claim: The post is being shared as one from an air force base, with the text, "Adampur India huge explosion reported in Indian Airforce base just now due an oil tanker which got hit by an unexploded munition from May 2025 war with Pakistan (sic)."
How do we know?: We carried out a reverse image search on different parts of the video using Google Lens.
One such search led us to an Instagram post carrying a screenshot of the video shared by former Lok Sabha MP from Sangrur Vijay Inder Singla, who posted it on 23 August.
His caption in Punjabi, when translated, mentioned that it showed "a fire incident of LPG tanker in Adda Mandiala near Hoshiarpur," which was the result of an accident.
Taking a cue from this, we ran a search using the keywords "LPG tanker accident Mandiala Hoshiarpur," which showed us several news reports about the incident.
This led us to a video report by NDTV, which mentioned that an LPG tanker collided with a car, causing a fire and an explosion, leading to one death and several injuries.
On comparing this video with the one from the claim, we noticed that they showed different angles of the same incident.
We noticed the same air conditioning unit, shed, and building in both visuals.

Other reports carrying the same visuals can be seen here and here.
As on 25 August, the incident had claimed seven lives and left over 20 injured, The Indian Express reported.
The tanker, which caught on fire and exploded after the collision around 10 pm on 22 August, razed around 30 shops in the area, it added.
Official action and response: Sharing a video on their verified X account, Hoshiarpur's police officials said they had registered two cases and arrested four poeple in connection to the explosion.
They said that the accused "were illegally extracting gas from tankers" to fill empty cylinders and sell them.
During their operation, the police recovered 50 LPG gas cylinders, nice empty oil drums and pipes used for filling cylinders.
Shortly after the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed grief over the mishap in an X post, announcing an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees to the kin of the deceased and free treatment to those injured.
Mann announced support for the victims of the incident.

Conclusion: A video showing a fire caused by an LPG tanker colliding with a passenger vehicle is being shared with false claims about the fire being caused by an unexploded munition at Adampur Air Force base.
