A parody account on X is going viral where they are impersonating Kashyap Patel's father.

An account on X (formerly Twitter) 'Dr Parik Patel, BA, CFA, ACCA Esq.' is identifying themselves as the father of FBI Director nominee Kashyap 'Kash' Patel.

In several posts, the account has address Patel as his 'son'.

What's the truth?: This is a parody account and not the real account of Patel's father.

How did we find out the truth?: We noticed that this account enlists itself as a 'parody' account on X.

• We further checked Patel's full name which is Kashyap Pramod Patel and does not include 'Parik'.

• Here's a screenshot from the author page for his book 'Government Gangsters: The Deep State, the Truth, and the Battle for Our Democracy'.

His full name includes Pramod and not Parik.

We did not any old post before November 2024 where this account identified themselves as Patel's father.

This account had also referred to Elon Musk, Mr Beast and Chamath Palihapitiya as his 'son' in the past.

Who is behind this parody account?: We found an interview shared by Shitposting Works on 14 April 2023.

• In the interview, the admin of this page confirmed that he runs a parody account and he made up this persona of 'Dr Parik Patel' in 2020 for sharing memes.

• The admin also stated that he worked in finance, hails from a Gujarati family and is hiding his real identify for 'creative freedom' under anonymity.

• When asked about the image, he cleared that he merged some pictures together available on royalty free image websites.

We have also reached out to the account admin for more details, the story will be edited once we receive a response.
