Is the claim true?: We found no evidence to prove the validity of the claim.

  • There are latest reports on the BRICS website noting deals and work agreements between India and other BRICS countries.

What we found: At first, we checked for the BRICS committee by running a simple keyword search, however, we did not find any results.

  • Even the BRICS website does not state anything about a BRICS core committee.

  • We, then, went to the news section of BRICS, which showed us a latest report from 29 November noting, "Russia Is Giving Indian Exporters Greater Market Access New Delhi"

  • It was about increasing Indian agricultural and food exports in the Russian market.

Here is the preview of the report.

  • Additionally, India attended the most recent summit which was held in Kazan, Russia between 22 and 24 October.

  • Lastly, the photo of the world leaders being circulated with the claim dates back to 2017 from the summit held in Xiamen, China, as noted by the website of Russian President.

Conclusion: The viral claim is false as we did not find any credible evidence to prove the claim.
