Several social media posts showing veteran comedian and actor Johnny Lever's photos have gone viral on social media, claiming that he passed away "a few days ago" at the age of 68.
This post by Facebook user Gaurav Rinshu Kumari had gathered over a thousand shares, 5,300 comments, and 55,000 reactions at the time of writing this report.

Is it true?: No, the claims about his death are a hoax.
How do we know?: We started by looking for reports about Johnny Lever's demise, but did not find any such information at all.
Next, we checked his X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram pages to see they had any posts about Lever being in poor health or passing away, but didn't find anything of this nature.
However, we saw several Instagram stories that Lever shared, where people were congratulating him on his birthday on 14 August 2025.

On X, actor Suniel Shetty, music label T-Series, and production company Dharma Productions also shared posts wishing him on his birthday on the day this report was written, indicating that the comedian had not passed away.
