A clip featuring a young girl performing late singer Mohammad Rafi’s song Deewana Hua Badal, from the film Kashmir ki Kali, is being circulated on social media platforms.
The claim: Those sharing the clip identified her as Muktika Ganguly, the daughter of singer Amit Kumar and the granddaughter of late singer Kishore Kumar.
(Archives of similar claims can be found here and here.)
Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false.
We were able to identify the girl in the video as Ananya Sabnis, a vocalist from Mumbai.
Kishore Kumar's son, Amit Kumar, also shared a photo of his daughter which proved that Ananya was not related to the late singer.
What we found: At first, we divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.
We came across the same video uploaded by a Facebook user called Manisha Sandesh Sabnis on 15 July 2020.
The post's caption said, "Song 6-Deewana hua baadal. A duet of Rafisaab and Asha ji by Ananya Sabnis." (sic.)

We performed a relevant keyword search for “Ananya Sabnis” on Google, which directed us to her Facebook page. In her account's bio, she had described herself as a singer from Mumbai.
On going through her profile, we discovered another clip of Sabnis performing that was recorded in a similar background as the viral clip.
She had shared the video on 26 July 2020.
We, then, looked up Amit Kumar on the internet to find Ganguly's social media and other information.
Team WebQoof found a post on Facebook shared by Amit Kumar in 2024, which led us to his daughter's page.
We noticed visible differences between the girl in the viral video and the Ganguly's Facebook page.
Here are the difference between the two.

As per Ganguly's BookMyShow page, she is the granddaughter of Kishore Kumar.
The artist lent her voice and featured in the music video for the title track of Baba Mere by Kumar Brothers Music.

We have reached out to Ganguly's and Sabnis' teams for their inputs and the story will be updated as and when we receive a response.
Conclusion: A viral video showing a young girl singing has been misidentified as Muktika Ganguly, granddaughter of Kishore Kumar.
