A claim about a 2024 United Nations (UN) research report indicating that India participated in 72.3 percent of terrorist activities in Asia is going viral on social media.
What we found: At first, we ran a relevant keyword search about this claim but, did not find any report or news article which verified the same.
A report by WION from 18 February highlighted that a UN report praised India's counter-terrorism operations under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
We looked for the report and found one by the Security Council of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team concerning terror groups such as Islamic State of Levant (ISIL-Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals.
It report stated that the ISIL was unable to mount large-scale attacks in India.
It did not mention anything which noted that India was involved in major terror activities.

Other Asian countries such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Myanmar ranked higher.
