A video showing an explosion in a plant is going viral on social media to claim that it shows Hezbollah attacking Israel recently.

What's the truth?: This video shows explosions at a chemical plant in China and is unrelated to Israel.

How did we find out the truth?: We performed a reverse image search on Google lens which led to YouTube video titled, ‘Chinese chemical plant explosion’.

  • This was shared on 19 November 2015 and showed the same viral clip.

  • Taking a cue, we performed a relevant keyword search which led us to several reports (here and here) which carried more information about the video.

  • It stated that the video showed flames and smoke was emanating from a chemical plant in Zhejiang province, China.
