A video is being shared on social media platforms with a claim that it purportedly shows dead bodies of four terrorists involved in the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

What's the claim?: Those sharing the clip have captioned it saying, "All four terrorists involved in the Pahalgam incident have been hunted down by the Indian Army. No fanfare, no loud talk...Proud of our force..."

An archive of the post can be found here.

(More archives of similar such posts could be accessed here and here.)

What are the facts?: The claim is false. The video could be traced back to at least December 2018, which predates the recent terror in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam.

How did we find out?: We divided the video into several keyframes and conducted a reverse image search on all of them.

  • A Google Lens search directed us to the same visuals published on an unverified YouTube channel named 'Rakesh Mehto'.

  • The video was posted on 10 December 2018 with a caption that said, "Jai hind Indian army(2)."

The report was posted on 10 December 2018.

A second wind?: Team WebQoof had previously debunked the same video in February 2019, when it was incorrectly linked to the Pulwama attack. You can read our older fact-check here.

The report was published on 19 February 2019.

Conclusion: While we could not verify the location or context of the video independently, it is clear that the viral clip is at least six years old.
