AI Video Shared as Real Visuals of Bridge Collapsing in Indonesia’s Bali

A video that shows a bridge, on top of which people can be seen walking, collapsing is being shared on social media platforms as a recent incident from Indonesia's Bali.

What does the viral post say?: The clip was shared with a caption in Hindi that loosely translated to, "30-40 tourists die after wooden bridge collapses in Indonesia."

Is the video real?: No, the video has been generated using the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and does not show real visuals.

How did we find that out?: We divided the video into several keyframes and conducted a reverse image search on them.

  • A Google Lens search directed us to the same visuals published on an Instagram account named 'kolotov_ai'.

  • The video was published on 24 July 2025.

About the Instagram account: On going through the account, we found that the user identified themself as "Neural Networks specialist and Ai creator".

  • We found that the page regularly posts such AI-generated clips. You can watch some of them here and here.

What did a detection tool show?: To further verify the authenticity of the video, we passed it through an AI detection tool named 'DeepFake-0-Meter'.

  • One of the detectors showed a 100 percent probability of the viral video being an AI-generated one.

Conclusion: Evidently, the video has been generated using AI and does not show a real incident.
