What's the truth?: The video dates back to December 2024, when former minister and Karnataka BJP leader Munirathna was egged at an event in Bengaluru. This means that the viral claim false.

How did we find that out?: On conducting a Google Lens search on the keyframes of the viral video, we found a news report published by India Today.

  • It said that an egg was thrown at former minister and Karnataka BJP leader Munirathna by unknown people while he was participating in an event in Bengaluru.

  • The programme was organised to mark the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The BJP accused Congress workers of throwing eggs at the leader.
