But...?: The claim is false.
Akhilesh Yadav took the holy dip during the 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on 27 January.
How did we find out the truth?: We carried out a reverse image search on the video, and found that the clip in the claim indeed showed Yadav at an iftar party in Lucknow, on 29 March.
To verify whether Yadav had attended the Maha Kumbh Mela, we ran a keyword search for the same.
It led us to a video uploaded on Live Hindustan's verified YouTube channel, where a video of Yadav taking the holy dip was published on 27 January.
The video was shared by several news organisations, including UP Tak, ABP Live, and Zee Bihar Jharkhand.
The SP leader had also shared visuals of him attending the religious gathering on his X (formerly Twitter) account on the same day.
Yadav had shared photos of his visit.
