No, This Video Does Now Show Last Moments of Cabin Crew in Air India Plane Crash

This cabin crew personnel clarified that rumours were circulating on social media regarding her video.

Fact-Check: This claim is false and is not related to the recent plane crash.

A video has gone viral on social media, where users are claiming that it shows the final moments recorded by the crew of the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

• The flight had 12 crew members on board, none of whom survived the crash.

Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false. This video shows a different crew and not the one aboard on the Air India plane which crashed in Ahmedabad.

What we found: We divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google reverse image search on some of them.

• We located the original clip shared by cabin crew member Yashasvi Sharma on Instagram with the username @yashasvi_explorer on 9 June. As the video was posted prior to the unfortunate accident on 12 June, it is unrelated to the Air India crash in Ahmedabad.

• Additionally, Yashasvi Sharma personally assured her safety in the comments of the post, stating: “Hi everyone, Thank you so much for reaching out - I'm safe and currently in Mumbai. I'm deeply shaken and heartbroken by what's happened. It's a very difficult time for us." (sic.)

• An additional look at her Instagram revealed a clarification post, where she stated: "I am aware of recent rumors circulating my video. And it went viral. Requesting all my friends and family report such account. And asked them to delete it. How will our families feel if they see that we are not alive. How can someone do this without information. Thank you." (sic)

• On 13 June, Brut India released the official roster of the 12 crew members from Air India flight who unfortunately died. It noted that the flight was under the command of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, with First Officer Clive Kunder as co-pilot.

• Other crew members included Roshni Songhare, Deepak Pathak, Saineeta Chakravarty, Nganthoi Kongbrailatpam Sharma, Shradha Dhavan, Aparna Mahadik, Maithili Patil, Irfan Shaikh, Lamnunthem Singson and Manisha Thapa.

• It did not include Yashasvi Sharma's name in the list.
