A picture allegedly featuring actor Shah Rukh Khan and his spouse Gauri Khan in Mecca is circulating on social media with the claim that she embraced Islam after 33 years of marriage.

Is the claim true?: This image is created using artificial intelligence (AI).

• There are no reports or official statements to prove that Gauri Khan took to Islam or that she visited Mecca recently.

What we found: At first, we noticed that the quality of the image was extremely smooth and texture free which hinted at the photo being edited or AI-generated.

• Secondly, the superstar's right eye in the image looked a bit strange.

TrueMedia: The tool found "substantial evidence of manipulation" in the image and stated that was created using generative AI.
