CBSE UGC NET: Registration Extended to 12 April, Exam on 8 July

The registrations for the CBSE UGC National Elgibility Test (NET), which is currently underway, has been extended till 12 April 2018. The registration was earlier scheduled to close on 5 April.

The last date for submission of application fee has been extended to 13 April.

Interested candidates can apply for the examination on cbsenet.nic.in.

The NET is held to determine the eligibility for Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship posts in Indian Universities and colleges.

The CBSE is scheduled to conduct the NET in 84 subjects across 91 selected centres on 8 July.

The process for registration is as follows:

  • Log in to cbsenet.nic.in
  • Fill out the application form
  • Submit the application

The examination fee is fixed at Rs 1,000 for candidates hailing from the general category. For OBC category students, the fee is Rs 500, while SC,ST, PwD and Transgender students are charged Rs 250 as the fee.

The maximum age limit to take the test is 30 years.

The examination structure consists of two papers – Paper 1 for 100 marks with 50 questions, and Paper 2 with 100 questions for a total of 200 marks.
