Maharashtra on Tuesday, 7 April, reported 150 more COVID-19 cases, raising the total of cases in the state to 1,018, reported ANI, quoting the state health department. Hundred of the latest cases were reported in Mumbai.

The total number of cases in India have risen to 4,789, including 4,312 active cases on Tuesday, 7 April. The death toll stands at 124.

Numerous states and experts have requested the Central government on Tuesday, 7 April, to extend the 21-day nationwide lockdown. The Centre has been thinking in the direction, reported PTI, quoting sources.

Earlier, reacting to the foreign ministry's decision to supply essential drugs in “appropriate quantities” to badly affected nations, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that “lifesaving medicines should be made available to Indians in ample quantities first.”

Delhi Govt to Conduct 1 Lakh Tests, CM Kejriwal's Briefing at 1 pm

Delhi government is set to conduct over 1 lakh tests for COVID-19 in the next few days, ANI reports on Tuesday. Random testing will be done in hotspots and quarantine centres are being set up in large numbers.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will brief the media today at 1 pm about a 5 point plan, formed to deal with the increase in the number of cases in Delhi.

24 New COVID-19 Cases in Rajasthan, Total Climbs to 325

Twenty-four new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Rajasthan on Tuesday: 4 in Banswara, 1 in Churu, 3 in Jaipur, 7 in Jaisalmer and 9 in Jodhpur, according to the state’s health department.

The total number of positive cases in the state has risen to 325.

2 New COVID-19 Cases in Mumbai's Dharavi

Two more positive cases have been found in Mumbai’s Dharavi, ANI reports. The infected are the second positive case’s father and brother.

The Dr Baliga Nagar area of Dharavi has been sealed and contact tracing of the new cases is being done. Total coronavirus positive cases in Dharavi now stand at 7, including 1 death, according to the news agency.

India to Supply Essential Drugs to Neighbours, Badly Affected Nations

India would supply paracetamol and Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) in appropriate quantities to badly affected nations and neighbouring countries, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Tuesday, 7 April.

“In view of the humanitarian aspects of the pandemic, it has been decided that India would licence paracetamol and HCQ in appropriate quantities to all our neighbouring countries who are dependent on our capabilities,” it said.

“We will also be supplying these essential drugs to some nations who have been particularly badly affected by the pandemic. We would, therefore, discourage any speculation in this regard or any attempts to politicise the matter,” MEA added.

Gujarat Reports 19 New Cases, Total at 165

Gujarat has reported 19 new cases of COVID-19: 13 from Ahmedabad, 3 from Patan and 1 each from Bhavanagar, Anand and Sabarkantha. The total number of positive cases in the state is 165, according to Gujarat’s health department, ANI reports.

Odisha Reports First COVID-19 Death
