Fire at Mumbai High-Rise Next to Shah Rukh Khan's Bungalow in Bandra Bandstand

A fire broke out on the 14th floor of a high-rise building next to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow Mannat in Mumbai's Bandra Bandstand, on Monday, 9 May, PTI quoted officials as saying.

As many as eight fire tenders, seven jumbo tankers and ambulances were the spot, reported ANI.

The Level 2 fire was reported around 7.46 pm on Monday evening at the Jivesh Building on Bandstand Road. Plumes of smoke were seen rising from the floor affected by the blaze.

Meanwhile, 31-year-old fireman Kaushal Khajansingh Rajput suffered suffocation while dousing the fire, according to a Fire Brigade official.

The Chief Medical officer (CMO) at Bandra-based Bhabha Hospital confirmed that the fireman suffered suffocation.

As of 10:25 pm on Monday, the fire had not been doused and the operation had not been called off yet, said an official quoted by PTI.
