Microsoft founder Bill Gates, activist Malala Yousafzai and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan have found spots in the list of the World’s Most Admired People of 2018, by UK-based YouGov. The market research and data analytics company compiled the list by interviewing over 37,000 people from 35 countries.

The list features 20 men and 20 women from around the world. The company also released a region-wise version of the list, where the names of the world’s most admired in 2018, could also appear on the basis of a specific country.

For instance, according to the survey, Indian survey respondents were of the opinion that S Officer Kiran Bedi, Badminton star PV Sindhu and social activist Malala Yousafzai were among the world’s most admired women.

In terms of men who left a mark in the period between 2017-2018, the survey showed Indian respondents as picking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MS Dhoni, Barack Obama, Bill Gates and Amitabh Bachchan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi topped the list of people most Indians expressed admiration for last year – with a score of a 11.90 percent.

Despite US President Donald Trump taking office in January 2017, Indians seem to still be hung up over former president Barack Obama, awarding him an ‘admiration score’ of 7.70 percent.
