A 40-year-old florist was shot dead after a quarrel broke out between him and the accused in northeast Delhi's Welcome area, police said on Monday.
The incident took place on Sunday night and the police were informed around 11 pm about a firing at a Kabir Nagar lane, they said.
Mehtab, a florist, was declared "brought dead" by doctors at the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Atul Kumar Thakur said.
Earlier in the day, Mehtab had a quarrel with one Nawazish, the officer said, adding that subsequently, the latter and some of his associates came and fired upon the victim.
A murder case was registered in connection with the incident and two of the accused – Nawazish and Salman – were apprehended, the DCP said, adding that a weapon was also seized from their possession.

To fund his girlfriend's birthday celebration, a man and his friends robbed a cab driver at gunpoint, following which three of the accused were arrested in Bindapur area of Dwarka district, police said Monday.
The driver, who works with a cab aggregator, had complained to police that he was robbed of his valuables by four people, who had booked a ride in his car, in the early hours of March 30, an official said.
Three of the accused, Gurpreet Singh (19), Aakash (22) and Jasveer Singh (24), were arrested the next day after police got information that they were roaming in Bindapur area, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said.
On March 30, Jasveer planned to celebrate birthday of his girlfriend but lack of money was the problem. After discussion with his friends, they decided to rob a taxi for money and also to exact revenge on the aggregator, he said.

A 44-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by unidentified people in Northeast Delhi's new Usmanpur area, police said Monday.
The deceased - Hakmuddin, who was shot dead on Sunday night was a resident of new Usmanpur and worked as a cluster bus driver.
According to a senior police officer, the incident took place when Hakmuddin was on his way back home from Seelampur after visiting his aunt.
Some unidentified people fired at him after he reached the new Umanpur area, and fled from the spot.
Hakmuddin was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital where he was declared brought dead, police said.
Initial investigations revealed Hakmuddin might have been was shot due to personal enmity, police said and ruled out any robbery motive.

A minor boy has alleged that he was sexually abused by three men, including two security guards of a private school in Delhi. According to the police, the incident took place on 12 December.
“He alleged a woman called him on the pretext of giving him a cricket bat and took him to a room where the three accused were present. They allegedly sexually abused him and warned him not to tell anyone,” a police officer said.
The incident came to light when the boy complained of pain and was taken to the hospital, police said, adding that the parents then filed a complaint.
The police has registered an FIR in the case.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a vegetable vendor along with his accomplices after robbing him of Rs 13,000 in Delhi's Captain Gaur Marg, police said Monday.
The accused identified as Akif, a resident of Nehru Nagar, was arrested from near his home on March 29, they said.
The incident took place on March 28 at about 5.30 am when the 40-year-old vegetable vendor was going to purchase vegetables from Okhla Sabzi Mandi, police said.
When the vendor reached Captain Gaur Marg, he was stopped by three men, who were on a scooter. They allegedly assaulted the vendor, stabbed him and robbed Rs 13,000 from him, Chinmoy Biswal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) said.

Indore police on Monday, 1 April arrested four people and seized fake currency motes worth Rs 1.82 lakh in Dewas in Madhya Pradesh.
The accused were identified as Ravi Jaiswal of Dewas and Naushad Ansari, Krishna Gupta and Umang Vyas of Indore.
During interrogation, they revealed that they used butter paper to scan the original notes and prepare fake currency, police said.
They had been printing currency notes of Rs 50,100 and Rs 200 denominations amd attempting to use them at a local fair, police said.

A 29-year-old man was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his rented room in Tigra village near Sector 57 in Gurugram.
The police said the body had been decomposed and the preliminary probe had revealed that the victim, a native of Bihar, may have committed suicide two or three days ago. No suicide note was found, said the police.
According to the police, the incident was reported to the police control room around 1 pm on Saturday, after neighbours in the village complained of foul odour coming from the victim’s room.

A farmer has been apprehended with 14 claws which he had removed earlier in February from a dead lion in the Tulshishyam Range of Gujarat's Gir Forest, senior official said Monday.
The farmer, identified as 45-year-old Vashram Dhapa of Pachapachiya village in Khambha taluka from Amreli, was nabbed Sunday from his farm in nearby Sonariya based on a tip-off, DT Vasavada, Chief Conservator of Forests, Junagadh Wildlife Circle said.
"In February, a lion, aged between five to nine years, was found dead in the Tulsishyam range Gir East division by forest staff. Fourteen of its claws were missing. We had then formed a special team to nab the person responsible," Vasavada said.
"We zeroed in on Dhapa who has confessed that he had removed the claws and hid them near his farm in Sonariya. We have recovered all 14 claws," he informed.

Seven people were arrested for their alleged involvement in betting during an IPL match played in Chennai, police said Monday. A police team raided an apartment in Jaisinghpura Road here on Sunday during the T20 match, additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Vimal Singh said.
Apart from Rs 19,240 cahs, betting ledgers running into several lakhs, 33 mobile phones, TV, three laptops, three Wi-Fi dongle, calculators and two cars were seized from the accused, the police officer said. The accused were identified as Jatin Shah (45), Rahul Prajapati (29), Vinod Sindhi (39), Hemant Sindhi (37), Harish Kumar Sindhi (35), Chandu Kumar Sindhi (37) and Rajkumar Sindhi (45), all residents of Ajmer, police said.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and further probe is underway, they said.
