Surendra Singh Moga, a medical assistant sergeant with the Indian Air Force, hailing from Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan, was martyred on Saturday, 10 May, after being fatally struck by a shrapnel from a Pakistani drone strike. Stationed at the Udhampur Air Base in Jammu & Kashmir, Moga was on active duty when the base came under attack, just hours before the ceasefire agreement was announced.
Although the Indian Air Defence systems were successful in intercepting the Pakistani drones, falling debris critically injured the deceased soldier. Despite immediate efforts to save him, Moga succumbed to his injuries.
