The Delhi University on Wednesday, 8 July notified that the Open Book Examination (OBE) for all streams of Final year/Semester/Term of undergraduate and postgraduate students including SOL and NCWEB scheduled to be held from 10 July, have been postponed until after 15 August, 2020.

The university said that the revised dates and other relevant information shall be notified in due course of time.

The notification came just hours after the university informed the Delhi High Court that it has decided to postpone the final-year undergraduate exams, scheduled to commence from 10 July, to August.

A source had earlier said that the university was asked by the Human Resource Development Ministry to postpone its controversial Open Book Examinations for final-year students to August.

According to the source, the decision had been taken at a meeting with DU officials, which was chaired by HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal. Pokhriyal had tweeted about the meeting on Tuesday "to discuss a synchronised calendar for DU admissions and CBSE board examination results etc."

"I would like to assure everyone that we at MHRD are committed to students' health and quality education," he had said.
