If you are a fan of Stranger Things and it’s band of kiddy heroes, then you’d be happy to know that the funny bone in the show’s core group - Dustin, played by Gatan Matarazzo - is getting his very own show on Netflix!

Yep, Gatan would be kick starting what is being titled as Prank Encounter, a variety show with similar style as Punk’d. Basically a hidden camera show where two people are given a make-believe set up, only, they don’t know about it.

In a press release the streaming giant had put out, the show-makers describe this new variety show as, “It’s business as usual until their paths collide and these part-time jobs turn into full-time nightmares.”

And it is said to have 8 episodes in the first season.

According to Hypebeast.com, due to the proposed nature and narrative of the show several netizens have spoken out how its premise is cruel and offering fake jobs to unemployed is a worse way to start laughter.

In fact many fans have also requested Matarazzo to re-consider being part of this project.

While people are apprehensive over the content of the show, and fearing that it would end up ina crude mockery of unemployment, some are also wondering if the announcement itself is a prank on the viewers and the real show would be on something completely different.

Well, fans can hope.
