Do you like your jeans with pockets? Let us rephrase it – do you like your fashion functional?

If yes, then this trend of deliberately cutting out pockets from your jeans might leave you slightly uneasy. After all, few might like to feel that they have just been pickpocketed.

To be sure, this isn’t exactly a new trend. It’s being done by some since 2015.

Or as this tweet is quick to add, from even before!

If you like it, go for it. But before you pick that scissor, know that women are actually fighting to get pockets in their jeans. As it turns out, it was assumed that only men need pockets, because the women’s silhouette would end up becoming ugly if she had pockets.

Just like outside it, there’s a gendered bias even in our jeans.

But hell, we are all on the same page when fighting for our right to wear whatever we want!
