B’luru Man Forced to Drive His Own Uber As Driver Passes Out Drunk
A Bengaluru man was forced to drive himself home in the Uber he ordered when the driver showed up drunk!
A less-than-satisfactory Uber ride is a rather common recurrence. However, it would be hard to beat the experience Surya Oruganti had, when he ordered an Uber at the Bengaluru International Airport.
What Do You Do When Your Uber Driver Is Drunk?
Due to the driver’s state of intoxication, Oruganti decided to drive himself home. He drove home while the driver slept on the passenger side. He took selfies with the driver and narrated the entire episode in a series of Tweets.
Oruganti captured the driver admitting that he was under the influence of alcohol in a video. The driver also says that the cab does not belong to him. He had borrowed the car from a friend and hence the Uber app did not display his name.
Oruganti contacted Uber’s support team to inform them about his ordeal. He expressed his concerns and asked them to address this obvious safety issue.
Uber contacted Oruganti on the same day and informed him about how they have dealt with the situation.
