It’s Valentine’s Day, but Tamil Nadu seems to have found a different reason to celebrate.

After what felt like a neverending tug-of-war between the O Panneerselvam and Sasikala camps, the state has found some respite now that the latter has been banned from contesting polls for the next 10 years.

The Supreme Court has ordered her to sever the remaining jail term and pay a hefty fine as a part of her conviction in the disproportionate assets case.
