The Winter Session of the Lok Sabha, got off to a blistering start on Wednesday, 2 January, with Rahul Gandhi attacking the government over the Rafale deal. Gandhi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not addressing the Rafale issue during his interview with ANI on Tuesday.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley countered the arguments put forward by Rahul Gandhi, resulting in an intense discussion and accusations of corruption being made by the government and the Opposition.

PM’s Absence Questioned
One of the major talking points on the internet was the fact that PM Modi was not present in the House to answer the questions posed by the Opposition.
Jaitley, ‘The Accidental Defence Minister’
Not only was the PM missing from the discussion, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was not the one answering the questions regarding the Rafale deal.
It was Jaitley who retorted to the Opposition’s claims and questioned the need of a Joint Parliamentary Committee ( JPC), when the SC has settled the matter already.
The Congress MP’s were guilty of not maintaining decorum in the Lok Sabha and were seen flinging paper planes at the Finance Minister during his speech.
