Do you think Indians are highly emotional? Sorry to burst your bubble, apparently we are not!

The mighty saas-bahu dramas, the nail-biting endings to India-Pakistan cricket matches, and the maa-ke-hath-ka-khaana emo scenes in Bollywood films make all us Indians aaww-so emotional. Or so we thought.
It seems our feelings have very little value when it comes to some global emotional quotient. Sigh!
According to a survey conducted by American-based pollsters Gallup, India ranks 88th among the world’s most emotional countries.
Yes, you read that correct!
Latin American countries, like Bolivia and El Salvador dance their way to the top and are ranked as the most emotional countries. If it makes us feel any better, our neighbour Bangladesh has been ranked as the least emotional country in the survey.
But we suspect dal mein kuch toh kaala hai!
We refuse to believe that India can rank so low in such a poll. We are one highly emotional bunch. Don’t believe us? We’ll show you. Right here, right now!

Maa kasam, dear survey people, if you had asked us once about our mothers, you would have witnessed our maa ka pyaar oozing out. After all, bharatiya maa ki mamata is overwhelming, inescapable and annoyingly adorable.

We are one country that’s highly emotional about animals. So much so that we end up protecting them, even more than our fellow Indians. We also have tendencies to make them the stars of our Bollywood films!
Troll Nation
Internet trolls are effing annoying. Our emotions always peak when it comes to Twitter. Man, we are so obnoxiously loud that we spare no one. And hello, why weren’t Twitter trolls taken into account while calculating India’s emo quotient? #JustAsking
Motion se hi Emotion
Our gut feeling is that at the time when the emotional survey questions were posed to Indians, they were probably suffering from chronic constipation. Believe it or not, we do live in a poop-centric society, where the emotions you feel after a good motion are irreplaceable.
