Students across India are changing their profile pictures on social media to protest against the violence unleashed by ABVP outside Delhi University’s Ramjas College recently.

A student from Delhi’s Lady Shri Ram College started the campaign on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and called on others to join in.

Now, youths from varsities across the country, including Panjab and Mumbai universities, have responded to her initiative, dubbed #StudentsAgainstABVP.

The online campaign is a response to ABVP’s recent violent rampage in Delhi. Members of the students’ body first vandalised Ramjas College over its decision to invite JNU student Umar Khalid for a seminar. The next day, ABVP activists attacked protesting students outside Ramjas.
