Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has apparently refused the Nobel Peace Prize when they came to ‘offer it to him’, because it’s ‘no politics’ for him. He went further and dropped this bomb – “That girl got the prize for nothing. The prize is a political one and has no meaning.” That girl – Malala Yousufzai. The prize – Nobel Peace Prize.
Since Sri Sri is shy of accepting such ‘political’ awards, we have a few ‘tongue-in-cheek’ awards for this multi-faceted personality. Ladies, and gentleman, put your hands together, and scroll.
We don’t know if Sri Sri deserves this award, but this award surely deserves him. The man stood firm against many protests and petitions to hold the World Culture Festival on the ecologically sensitive Yamuna Floodplains. For? ‘To raise awareness on taking care of rivers’.
To reward this smartness and future-oriented vision, we would like to present this award.
The college exam season is upon us, and students are burning more than the proverbial midnight oil. But fret not kids, Sri Sri chacha is here! He can pump up your spirits with a conversation. If you seek proof, Sri Sri tweeted this shortly after India beat Pakistan in the World T20 this year.
He surely knows how to swing the odds in your favour. Get on, and game on.
He’s brave enough to extend the olive branch to troubled territories. “I tried to initiate peace talks with the ISIS recently but they sent me a photograph of a beheaded body of a man. Thus, my effort for a peace dialogue with the ISIS ended,” said Sri Sri at a media interaction. Sri Sri just wished for a peaceful dialogue.
They should’ve given peace a chance. The epic meeting would’ve been Art of Living in conversation with Art of Killing.
Dancers are the athletes of God, said Albert Eistein, and Sri Sri has taken it up religiously. The spiritual guru knows how to shake a leg to shake off all worries. With him in charge, the satsangs are never a dull affair.
Here’s one such live concert...err...satsang.
As an entrepreneur, you have to be thinking smart, and thinking forward. Sri Sri’s Art of Living (AoL) Foundation has already gone beyond spiritual training and expanded into the consumer goods space, but they manage their expenditures well. Sort of.
The foundation spent close to Rs 26 crores on the World Culture Festival 2016, held on the banks of river Yamuna. The National Green Tribunal ordered them to pay a fine of Rs. 5 crores for various irregularities. Initially, AoL maintained it won’t pay the fine. Then they said it would be paid as ‘developmental’ charges, and paid an initial sum of Rs 25 lakh. Now, they say they have no money hence payment of Rs. 4.75 crores is difficult.
Mallya couldn’t pay, and mastered the art of leaving. On the other hand, Sri Sri’s Art of Living has decided to take it head-on. Thus, Sri Sri deserves our Smart Entrepreneur Award.
