Twitter wars and Smriti Irani have started to sound like synonyms now.

When Bihar’s education minister, Ashok Choudhary, tweeted to the HRD Minister on Tuesday about the new education policy she previously promised, little did he know that Irani is not a kind retaliator, especially on Twitter.

Irani does not take criticism lightly, proof of which we received (again) as she tweeted back immediately.

The fight went from unkind comments to a full-blown caustic attack quite fast.

While we were grappling with Smriti Irani’s non-problem, Choudhary tweeted back. He wasn’t going to respond to Irani with anything less than snark.

At this point, the spat was as close to a political battle on Twitter as it can get. And while Twitter was having a field day replying to each one of their tweets, we were still making attempts to gauge the issue.

Is it not sanskaari enough for a salutation?

And the blockbuster tweet of the day award goes to this one by Choudhary.

Also, if you were wondering what the problem with addressing Smriti Irani as ‘dear’ was, a Twitter user has the answer.

Choudhary managed to have the last word, and the laugh.

Twitterati was also quick to remind Irani that ‘dear’ was not a bad word, considering she has excessively used it too.

This is not the first time Irani has found herself embroiled in a war of words on Twitter. Last month, her Twitter attacks on Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi had drawn flak.

Apart from obsessing over IITs and Sanskrit, she surely loves a good ol’ Twitter spat.
