An 18-year-old Yuvraj Singh earned his ODI cap during the Champions Trophy in 2000 – then known as the ICC KnockOut – but didn’t get a chance to bat. But when he got a chance in the next game, he smashed an 84 off 80 against Australia.

Seventeen years later, a 35-year-old Yuvraj is all set to play his 300th One Day International against Bangladesh in India’s Champions Trophy semi-final at Edgbaston on Thursday.

Yuvraj made his comeback to cricket in late 2012, a year after he was diagnosed with cancer. “At one stage, I doubted whether I’ll be able to play another game,” said Yuvraj, ahead of India’s do-or-die tie in Birmingham.

Harbhajan Singh and Shikhar Dhawan along with the entire cricket fraternity congratulated Yuvi on achieving this feat.
