Congress leader Shashi Thaoor, who often bemuses Twitter users with his English vocabulary, recently shared a morphed photo of him resembling English playwright William Shakespeare, adding that he’s “unworthy of the honour”.

Tharoor's tweet was a response to the morphed photo, which is doing the rounds on social media.

“The most flattering image going around on WhatsApp today – amazed that someone thought of making me into Shakespeare and then actually took the trouble to create this! Thanks to whoever did so (though I am completely unworthy of the honour!),” he said in the tweet.

Despite Tharoor’s response to the morphed image, netizens poked fun at the 63-year-old politician with a ‘farrago’ of tweets, where one user went ahead to call him the “Shakespeare for millennial.”

The Congress leader, who was once India's most followed politician on Twitter, still remains a popular figure on the platform and, from time to time, “enlightens” the users with his wordplay.

Here are some memorable tweets from Tharoor over the years.
