Freshly-appointed captain of just one day, Aussie cricketer Steve Smith welcomed Ben Stokes to the Rising Pune Supergiants.

The English all-rounder was sold for a whopping Rs 14.50 crore and became the most expensive foreign player in IPL history on Monday.

Interestingly, the Pune Supergiants, who came in the auction with Rs 17.50 crore, were left with just Rs 3 crore after picking up Stokes. Subsequently, they bought all-rounder Danil Christian for Rs 1 crore, Daniel Christian for Rs 30 lakh and Jaydev Unadkat, Rahul Chahar, Saurabh Kumar, Milind Tandon and Rahul Ajay Tripathi for Rs 10 lakh each.
