Amidst the escalating tensions between India-Pakistan, an old video of Asma Jahangir, the Pakistani activist and human rights lawyer, from 2011 has gone viral. The video is gaining traction online because of Jahangir’s unequivocal condemnation of the senior officers of the Pakistani army during a TV chat show.

Calling them “duffers”, Jahangir accuses them of promoting terrorism. Catch the full video below.

The video has become relevant especially due to the proxy war being fought between the two countries on television channels. Only recently, Dawn’s Zahid Hussain aptly commented on this and said:

The proxy war between the two institutions is now being fought on TV talk shows.

Additionally, Nawaz Sharif and his Army General Raheel Sharif have also found themselves pitted against the Army, emphasising the deepening chasm between army and civil establishments in the country.
