Instagram recently announced that the company running tests in 6 more countries where, “You can still see your own likes by tapping on the list of people who've liked it, but your friends will not be able to see how many likes your post has received.”

It’s undeniable that Instagram ‘likes’ have become very essential in not just business but for social media influencers as well as those who want to climb the social ladder and/or seek external validation.

This obsession with Instagram ‘likes’ reached its peak a few months ago when a photograph of an egg became the most-liked picture on Instagram, overtaking a post by Kylie Jenner and causing quite a stir on the Internet.
