‘Chhittar’ or ‘flying chappal’ is both a noun and a verb for desi parents and, accept it or not, you must’ve been its target at least once as a kid. It’s also the most popular form of ‘dhamki’ (threat) that parents use to disciple children.

Turns out, parents around the world have been launching flip-flops with incredible range at their kids this whole time!

The description of the video on YouTube reads, “Parent launched sandal at least 30 metres down street in Mexico after argument. Flip-flop soared through the air and whacked teenager between the shoulders (sic).”

Daily Mail reported, “This is the incredible moment an angry mother launched her flip-flop at her fleeing teenage daughter with an incredible long-range shot.”

Netizens couldn’t help but appreciate the Mexican mother’s flip-flop flinging skills.

The video, which was first posted on Twitter, has garnered more than a million views and around 60,000 likes.

According to Daily Mail, a number of online users commented that “the woman appeared to be world-class in the noble art of the ‘chanclazo volador’ (flying flip-flop), reportedly a popular way for Mexican mothers to punish their disobedient daughters.”
