Six hundred outlets of KFC in the United Kingdom ran out of an ingredient, and it wasn't one of the 11 secret herbs and spices. The world-famous chicken chain, ran out of chicken. Yes, you read it right!

And the chickens are all out on Twitter to roost.

Twitter users believe that it is the beginning of the end, as they expect the arrival of the four horsemen of the apocalypse – death, famine, war and conquest.

Sportingly, KFC UK and Ireland tweeted, "The chicken crossed the road, just not to our restaurants," and blamed the shortage of chicken on a contract with their new delivery firm, DHL.
