According to JK Rowling’s recent reveal, in an interview during the special Blu-ray feature of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Professor Dumbledore and Grindelwald indeed had an “incredibly intense” relationship in their youth.

This major revelation marks the end of readers’ speculation of Grindelwald’s feelings towards the Hogwarts headmaster after Rowling revealed that despite the fact that the books and movies don’t mention it, Albus Dumbledore was gay and in love with the dark wizard.

The writer of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beast series had previously divulged the details of Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s ‘passionate’ love affair in an interview with Radio Times.
