All it took was one self-care guru, in the form of Marie Kondo, to tell you what mother has been telling you for ages — tidy up, organise, and get rid of things that don’t really matter or ‘spark joy’, as Kondo puts it.

Marie Kondo, a Japanese organising consultant, with a Netflix show — Tidying Up With Marie Kondo — to her name, has caused quite a stir on the internet with her ‘decluttering’ techniques. Simply put, she shows you how to organise your things — and your life — in order to unwind or be stress free.

From clothes to books to miscellaneous items... the KonMari technique covers pretty much all the bases and the number of ‘ayes’ and ‘nayes’ on the method’s effectiveness seem fairly divided.

But what do desis have to say to all this? How much weight does the KonMari lifestyle hold for us? Check it out!
