Google’s Dedication to Yogi BKS Iyengar on His Birth Anniversary

Google India marks Yoga guru BKS Iyengar’s 97th birth anniversary.

The Google doodle of the day marks the 97th birth anniversary of Yogi BKS Iyengar.

He developed and promoted what came to be called ‘Iyengar Yoga’. His yoga style had primarily four key elements: precision and alignment, sequencing, timing and usage of props.

It’s been over a year since the yoga guru passed away, but he left an indelible mark among his followers across the world.

The list of Iyengar’s devotees is long – Aldous Huxley, designer Donna Karan, Martha Stewart, Annette Benning, Sachin Tendulkar and Kareena Kapoor are just some of the names.
