Late on Wednesday night, a 32-year-old black man in Falcon Heights, Minnesota was shot by police during a traffic stop. The aftermath was broadcast by his girlfriend in a Facebook Live video, where the victim is seen sitting beside her on the front seat of the car – soaked in blood.

The victim, Philando Castile, has been confirmed to be dead.

In the video, which went viral in a matter of a few hours, the girlfriend Lavish Reynolds is heard explaining that their car was pulled over for a broken taillight.

Viewer discretion advised.

She later says, “Police shot him for no apparent reason, no reason at all.” Protests have erupted in parts of the state in the aftermath of the killing.

The video has reportedly been deleted by Facebook.
