F*** the F-word! Surely You Can Get More Creative With Your Slang?

We’re taking a cue from Sneha Keshav’s fun new blog project – join in with substitutes for the F-bomb!

‘F***’ currently occupies pride of place as one of the most colourful words in the English dictionary. It’s used as a noun, a verb, an adverb, an adjective, a lazy exclamation, a fumbling substitute. Sometimes (in fact, most times), its usage doesn’t even make sense!

It is now a happy part of your daily lexicon.

Clearly, this occurred to someone other than you and me, and she decided to do something about it. Sneha Keshav of Bombay, by ingenuous use of her blog ‘Taming of the F***ery’, has embarked on a 100-day project in which she introduces a new word everyday to substitute for ‘F***’.

Not each of these is terribly creative or even new. In fact, they’ve been around for some eons – but how often do we use them? Cue:

We, for one, CANNOT get over these pop culture references, though. There’s a Captain Haddock, a Lion King and a Star Wars in there – need we say more?
