‘Dabke’ is originally an Arab folk dance performed at various joyous occasions in the Levant countries. It’s a combination of a circle dance and line dancing.

What started off as a traditional dance has now taken the internet by storm, after a viral video of the #DabkeChallenge surfaced.

The craziness began with this video of these men in Australia who took the Lebanese tradition to the next level. This man ‘Dabke’-ed his way onto the wall, defying gravity while he was at it – because dancing on the ground is too mainstream.

There’s no looking back now, as this bizarre challenge has become all the rage. People all over the world have taken it up, and are posting their own versions of it under the hashtag #DabkeChallenge. Let’s have a look.
