“We’re more worried about virtual eggs than actual dirt around temples,” a Twitter user in reply to Swamy’s tweet.

BJP Leader Subramanian Swamy seems to be unable to overlook inconsequential topics.

Earlier this month, a PIL was filed against Pokémon Go, an augmented reality game, blaming it for “hurting Hindu sentiments”. As it goes, Swamy was concerned about “sincere Hindus” being unhappy with the game and asked what the controversy was about. Twitter, however, called out the idiocy of the whole situation.

One of the tweets pointed out how the virtual eggs, which have no real significance, are more of a concern that the actual litter present around.

This Twitter user sarcastically explained the game, joking in Swamy’s Twitter lingo and saying that Patriotic Tweeters (PTs) search for Congress Reptile Tweeters (CRTs) in the game.

Others said courts have more pressing matters at hand than indulging in such frivolous issues.

Another tweet said the Hindu religion is better than getting offended by such trivial things, while others called out the silliness of the situation.

One of the tweets went a bit too far and got personal.

There definitely are more pressing issues than wasting time debating the non-existent religious implications supposedly emerging from a mobile game. Not to mention, the said game hasn’t even been officially launched in India. So, what or who the frivolous PIL aims to target is beyond comprehension.
