The CBSE’s announcement, that the Class 12 Economics examination would be conducted again on 25 April in the wake of the alleged leak of the paper, sparked massive protests. Students protested outside the CBSE office in New Delhi, causing traffic snarls in the area. Some aggrieved parents joined the protests, while others took to social media to vent their anger. This parent sums up the situation:

Angry Parents Hit Back

“You are the decision makers... The children are suffering right now,” said one parent, whose child had appeared for the exam.

On Twitter, parents expressed how the decision is a blow to the students who worked really hard as well as their families.

One Twitter user also mused whether the ministers should be made to take some retests.

All India Parents Association to File Complaint

The All India Parents Association is set to file a complaint in the Delhi High Court on 2 April, seeking a court-monitored probe into the matter.

Paper Leak Only in Delhi and Haryana

Education Secretary Anil Swarup said that the decision on a retest for the Class 10 Mathematics will be taken soon. If re-test is to be conducted, it will be held only in Delhi and Haryana, he said.

Some Twitter users demanded to know how the CBSE thought a paper leaked on WhatsApp would affect Delhi and Haryana alone.
