The spectacular victory of Boris Johnson in UK’s Conservative Party’s leadership race has left Twitter users with a lot to say. Johnson won 92,153 votes – beating his rival Jeremy Hunt’s 46,656 votes – and is taking over as prime minister from Theresa May on 24 July.

The former mayor of London, Boris Johnson is being compared with Trump by people all around the globe. Twitter users are drawing multiple parallels between the two, including the way they got elected.

Trump and daughter Ivanka took to Twitter to congratulate Johnson.

During an event in Washington, Trump praised the new PM of UK and added, "They call him Britain Trump. That's a good thing”.
